Alex Gibney?s ZERO DAYS is a documentary thriller about warfare in a world without rules? the world of cyberwar. The film tells the story of Stuxnet, self-replicating computer malware (known as a ?worm? for its ability to burrow from computer to computer on its own) that the U.S. and Israel unleashed to destroy a key part of an Iranian nuclear facility, and which ultimately spread beyond its intended target. It?s the most comprehensive accounting to date of how a clandestine mission hatched by two allies with clashing agendas opened forever the Pandora?s Box of cyberwarfare.

ZERO DAYS is a cautionary tale of technology, power, unintended consequences, morality, and the dangers of secrecy.

The film tracks the Stuxnet story from the moment when the malware is first discovered. As Stuxnet spreads across the globe, a small group of cyber-detectives, along with journalists, and even the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, race to decipher the most complex virus they have ever encountered, discover its target, and find out who is behind it. As it turns out, the Stuxnet worm would mark the first known attack in which computer malware leaves the realm of cyberspace and causes physical destruction.

Stuxnet is so tightly classified that not one official representative of the U.S. or Israeli

government has ever publicly admitted it even happened, let alone taken responsibility for it. Gibney tells the unvarnished story of the program, called ?Olympic Games?: How it was developed, executed, and came very close to causing an international crisis. Through accounts from high echelon players in the U.S. and Israeli secret services, journalists, analysts, and whistleblowers, ZERO DAYS uncovers new information about the operations and U.S. cyber weapons programs, and demonstrates the profound risks this Brave New World of digital warfare poses to the safety of the planet. In milliseconds, these weapons have the capacity to shut down or destroy infrastructure ? including power grids, hospitals, transportation systems, water treatment plants ? from any distance and without the target being able to find out who was responsible.

While we have international agreements governing conventional warfare, as well as pacts covering biological, chemical and nuclear weapons, no protocols are in place for cyber weapons, likely because the U.S. government doesn?t want to acknowledge its own offensive cyber capabilities. By bursting through the secrecy, ZERO DAYS hopes to signal the importance of this issue and break ground on the debate.

TORONTO, November 2016 – From Winston Churchill, to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr, Charles De Gaulle, Greta Garbo and even Michael Jackson, it seems as if legendary photojournalist Harry Benson, CBE, has had a chance to photograph every defining figure of the last century. ?

The extraordinary life of the Scottish photographer ?now 86, and with no intention of stopping? ?is captured in a new documentary by Matthew Miele and Justine Bare, Harry Benson: Shoot First. The film will open in Toronto at Carlton Cinema on December 16, 2016, from Unobstructed View.

Harry Benson: Shoot First charts the illustrious career of the renowned photographer who initially rose to fame alongside The Beatles, having been assigned to cover their inaugural trip to the United States in 1964. With unprecedented behind the scenes access, Benson captured some of the most vibrant and intimate portraits ever taken of the most popular band in history.

His extensive portfolio includes iconic images of Winston Churchill, Bobby Fischer, Muhammad Ali, Boris Yeltsin, Ariel Sharon, Mick Jagger, Elizabeth Taylor, and the Robert F. Kennedy assassination, and his work has appeared in countless publications including Life, Vanity Fair and The New Yorker.

?The realization that every one of these photographs were snapped by the same man, Harry Benson, seated in front of us with a cunning grin and whimsical green handkerchief in his lapel, was overwhelming,? said directors Miele and Bare. ?Over three consecutive lunches, a promise to bring our A-game, and a complete respect for the integrity of his photographs (many unpublished to this date), we received Harry’s blessing to do a feature documentary on his extraordinary career. ?

Directors Matthew Miele and Justin Bare are the co-founders of Quixotic Endeavors, a multimedia production company focusing on subjects with an iconic theme. They are best known for their breakthrough documentary Scatter My Ashes at Bergdorf?s.

TORONTO, November XX, 2016 – Praised by critics at the 2016 Sundance Film Festival, where it stood out for its elegance, striking beauty and nightmare-inducing darkness, The Eyes of My Mother ?the feature debut of writer/director Nicolas Pesce? is opening in Toronto at Carlton Cinema on December 16, 2016, from Unobstructed View.

In their secluded farmhouse, a mother, formerly a surgeon in Portugal, teaches her daughter, Francisca, to understand anatomy and be unfazed by death. One afternoon, a mysterious visitor horrifyingly shatters the idyll of Francisca?s family life, deeply traumatizing the young girl, but also awakening some unique curiosities. Though she clings to her increasingly reticent father, Francisca?s loneliness and scarred nature converge years later when her longing to connect with the world around her takes on a distinctly dark form.

Shot in crisp black and white, the haunting, and at times disturbing, visual compositions of The Eyes of My Mother evoke its protagonist?s isolation and illuminate her deeply unbalanced worldview.

?The starting place of the character is, you know, you hear these stories on the news about these people that have done horrible things,? said writer/director Nicolas Pesce. ?The horrifying thing that they?ve done, and maybe have become famous for, is actually a very small piece of what their life looks like. Thinking about what the rest of that life looks like when they?re not doing those things is just as scary and fascinating.?

The Eyes of My Mother is Executive Produced by Julie Christeas, Avi Stern, and by Antonio Campos, Sean Durkin, and Josh Mond from the Borderline Films collective. They are best known for their films Martha Marcy May Marlene, Simon Killer and James White, which have screened at Sundance, Cannes and other prestigious film festivals, earning multiple awards and a cult following in the process. ?

TORONTO, August 24, 2016 ? Unobstructed View Inc. (formerly Video Services Corp.) is pleased to announce today that they are bringing the stranger-than-fiction documentary thriller THE LOVERS AND THE DESPOT to screens across Canada and on iTunes on September 30th, 2016. The film will open in Toronto at the Hot Docs Ted Rogers Cinema and Ottawa?s ByTowne Cinema, before expanding to other select cities in October.

The release follows the film?s successful premieres at the Sundance and Berlin Film Festivals, where audiences and critics alike thrilled at the incredible story and lauded the filmmakers? rendering of this truly fantastical tale, that if not true, would simply be unbelievable.

THE LOVERS AND THE DESPOT tells the story of young, ambitious South Korean filmmaker Shin Sang-ok and actress Choi Eun-hee who met and fell in love in 1950s post-war Korea. In the 70s, after reaching the top of Korean society following a string of successful films, Choi was kidnapped in Hong Kong by North Korean agents and taken to meet Kim Jong-il. While searching for Choi, Shin also was kidnapped. Following five years of imprisonment, the couple was reunited in North Korea by the movie-obsessed Kim, who declared them his personal filmmakers. Choi and Shin planned their escape but not before producing 17 feature films for the dictator and gaining his trust in the process.

Particularly notable in the film is the use of a rare audio archive of recordings that Shin and Choi secretly and courageously taped when they were in Kim?s presence, affording the first opportunity for those outside North Korea to hear the dictator?s voice.

?We can?t remember exactly when we first heard this story,? the filmmakers say. ?For a long time it seemed to reside in our imaginations as a possibly apocryphal tale concocted by a career fabulist. It seemed far too outlandish to be true – a director and an actress kidnapped by a brutal dictator to improve his films. Many directors and actors have led fascinating lives and had passionate love affairs, but none have experienced such a thrilling melodrama as Choi and Shin. As a film about filmmakers caught up in a narrative beyond their own making, it had particular appeal for us – as storytellers – in the possibilities of its telling.?

THE LOVERS AND THE DESPOT is co-directed by Robert Cannan and Ross Adam. Cannan previously directed the critically acclaimed documentary THREE MILES NORTH OF MOLKOM, which won an audience award and was nominated for Best Documentary at the British Independent Film Awards.? Ross Adam previously collaborated with Cannan on many short-form projects and has worked as a director, cameraman and editor in short film and music video. THE LOVERS AND THE DESPOT is their first feature length collaboration.

THE LOVERS AND THE DESPOT is a BFI, Creative England and BBC presentation, in association with the Documentary Co., Influence Film, ZDF/Arte, SVT and Sundance Institute Documentary Film Program, in co-production with NTR, Pumpernickel Films and Submarine, of a Hellflower and Tigerlily production. Produced by Robert Cannan, Ross Adam, Natasha Dack Ojumu. Executive producers, Lizzie Francke, Richard Holmes, Nick Fraser, Kate Townsend, Sheryl Crown, Maggie Monteith, Victoria Steventon, Cristina Ljungberg, Sandra Whipham. Christoph Jorg, Femke Wolting, Bruno Felix.
